When the world around us is hurting, God calls us to be the church, to care about the things that God cares about. If we are to be the church, we must weep with those who are mourning or mistreated, seek justice, and learn to do right.

After Jesus died, his followers felt scared and alone. But God didn’t give up trying to be close to people, and so God sent a gift–God’s Spirit–to be with every person in every time and every place.

We want everyone to feel that they belong, and God does, too. When we look in the Bible, we can see so many examples of God loving us, and we know that we were lovingly created in the image of God.
